A Book of Beasts is a medieval-themed game where players select a starter beast from a diverse roster of mythical creatures. I always loved the art found in medieval manuscripts and thought it would be fun to incorporate that style in a game. When a beast is defeated, it causes health loss to either the player or the enemy, intensifying the challenge. I was inspired to make this by the "Book of Games" made for Alfonso X of Castile.
